The complete picture

Most people have never seen
their whole picture in one place.

A property here, three old pension pots there, an ISA you half-remember the value of, a loan you're still paying off. Every piece exists somewhere. Almost nobody has ever put them side by side.

This tool walks through every asset, liability, income stream and pension you hold, business interests included, and assembles it into one document, your net position, what's actually accessible, and where the gaps in your own knowledge are.

What it asks of you
Every asset, liability and income stream, in banded ranges. About 20 minutes, no exact figures required.
What you walk away with
Your true net position, what's actually accessible, and where the gaps in your own knowledge are.
Illustrative example
Net position: £820,000
£1.2m in assets against £380,000 in liabilities
Pension
Property equity
ISA / cash
You've already found your number with the Freedom Number tool. This is what completes the picture around it, kept as an appendix so it's genuinely useful in a real conversation.

Around twenty minutes, honest answers, one document that's genuinely yours to keep and update.

Before we begin

Here's how this works

Six short sections, banded figures, no exact numbers required. Here's what each one covers.

01
What property you hold
Start with the biggest, most concrete piece. Approximate bands are fine.
02
Your pensions, added up properly
Most people have pots scattered across old employers and have never seen them side by side.
03
Investments, savings and cash
Everything outside property and pensions that's sitting in accounts, working or waiting.
04
Business equity, sale proceeds, and anything else material
The less standard part of the picture, but often not small.
05
What you owe, beyond the mortgages
Mortgages are already covered. This is everything else, the part people underestimate most.
06
When can you actually get at it
What's usable now versus locked away for later, the part most net worth trackers skip entirely.

Your Complete Picture statement
Section 1 of 7

What property you hold

Start with the biggest, most concrete piece. Approximate bands are fine, we're building a picture, not filing accounts.

Your main home
Renting, or don't own a home
Worth under £250k
£250k – £500k
£500k – £1m
£1m+
How many other properties do you hold, beyond your main home? Buy-to-let, second home, inherited, anything else.
None
One
Two or three
Four or more
Why this matters
Property is usually the single largest number in anyone's picture, and the one most people are least precise about. Getting it roughly right here matters more than any other section.
Section 2 of 7

Your pensions, added up properly

Most people have pots scattered across old employers and have never seen them side by side. That's normal, this is where we fix it.

Roughly how many separate pension pots do you have, including any from old employers?
One
Two or three
Four or more
Honestly not sure
Combined estimated value of all private and workplace pensions, excluding the State Pension
None or negligible
Under £50k
£50k – £150k
£150k – £400k
£400k+
What types do you hold? Select everything that applies.
Workplace defined contribution pension(s)
SIPP or other self-invested pension
Defined benefit / final salary pension
State Pension only, no private provision
Not sure what type I hold
Why this matters
A defined benefit pension and a SIPP behave completely differently, one pays a guaranteed income, the other is an investment pot you draw down. Your statement will treat them accordingly.
Section 3 of 7

Investments, savings and cash

Everything outside of property and pensions that's sitting in accounts, working or waiting.

ISAs, general investment accounts, and other invested savings held in your own name, combined
None or negligible
Under £50k
£50k – £150k
£150k – £400k
£400k+
Cash savings or buffer, outside your investment accounts
Minimal
Under £50k
£50k – £150k
£150k+
Do you, or a company you own, also hold investments through the business, separate from your personal accounts?
Corporate investment accounts, brokerage funds held inside a company, that kind of thing.
No
Yes
Why this matters
Money in your own name and money sitting inside a company are structurally different, one's yours outright, the other needs a dividend, sale, or wind-up to actually reach you, usually with tax attached either way.
Section 4 of 7

Business equity, sale proceeds, and anything else material

The less standard part of the picture, but often not small. If you've already sold a business, that's a different question from still owning one, so we ask them separately.

Equity in a business you currently own or part-own, as an ongoing concern
If you've already sold your business, choose None here, that's covered in the next question.
None
Under £50k
£50k – £150k
£150k – £400k
£400k+
Deferred or staged consideration from a business you've already sold
The value of instalments still owed to you, not what's already landed in your bank account, that's cash, covered in Section 3.
None, not applicable
Under £100k still owed
£100k – £300k still owed
£300k – £600k still owed
£600k+ still owed
Anything else material? Select everything that applies.
Valuable possessions or collectibles
Cryptocurrency
Life insurance with a cash value
Personal loans you've made to others
None of these
Something else
Why this matters
Business equity, deferred sale proceeds, and cash already banked are three different things with three different tax and access profiles. Blurring them into one number is exactly what this tool is built to avoid.
Section 5 of 7

What you owe, beyond the mortgages

Mortgages are already covered. This is everything else, the part people underestimate most often.

Do you carry any of these? Select everything that applies.
Credit card balances carried month to month
Personal loan
Car finance
Money owed to family or friends
Tax owed personally to HMRC
Corporation tax, VAT, or other tax owed by a company you own
A personal guarantee on a business loan
None of these
Why this matters
Net worth is assets minus liabilities, not assets alone. Skipping this section quietly inflates the picture, which defeats the point of building it honestly.
Section 6 of 7

When can you actually get at it

The total only helps if you know what's usable now versus locked away for later. This is the part most net worth trackers skip entirely.

Is there anything currently unresolved that could affect several parts of this picture at once? Select everything that applies.
A divorce or separation settlement, an inheritance not yet received, a legal dispute, a sale not yet complete.
Divorce or separation settlement, unresolved
Inheritance expected, not yet received
A legal dispute that could affect your position
A sale not yet complete
None of these, the picture above is settled
Why this section exists
£400k in a pension you can't touch for a decade and £400k in a current account behave nothing alike. Your statement shows both, honestly, not blurred into one number.
Section 7 of 7

Income streams, today and later

The picture isn't just a pile of assets, it's what actually generates income, now and once things change.

What generates income for you today? Select everything that applies.
Salary or employment income
Self-employment or business profits
Rental income
Dividends
Pension income already being drawn
Investment income or interest
Something else
What do you expect to generate income later, once things change?
State Pension
Workplace or private pension drawdown
Rental income
Investment income
Proceeds from a business sale, once fully received
A new venture or business you're building
Honestly not sure yet
Once you see your complete picture, what do you expect will stand out?
What's the first honest conversation this should prompt, and with whom?
Before you build it
This statement shows your complete position and what's actually accessible. It doesn't tell you what to do with any of it, that's structurally deliberate. Take it to the right adviser for the specifics.
